Baby time is near and the cat room transformation is in full swing. It's not the most cohesive look, but that doesn't seem to be our style.
The first things we bought were the prints above the changing dresser. We still didn't know if our little Moneyball was a boy or girl so gender neutral was key back then. I am pretty damn proud of the paper crane mobile that I made and really wish I could get a nice picture of it. I have tried and tried and continually ended up with blurry shadow filled pictures so I guess you will just need to visit to see my masterpiece in person.
We scored a pretty awesome crib from my bosses daughter. Lammie Pie is sporting a sweater that I made for Moneyball. I should probably actually finish the sweater sometime soon. All it needs is buttons, but procrastination is my forte! We were planning on putting a name or something above the crib but as of yet we have nothing picked out so it's a naked wall.
Since this room has been for Phineas the past 3 years he is super interested in what we are doing. He mostly stays out of trouble but is always lurking around. I did catch him testing out the motion activated cloth diaper pail. He freaked and will either never go near it again or he will be checking it out constantly. Probably the latter, good thing we opted for the power cord and not the 12 D batteries to be drained by a cat.
I don't know why but I am suuuuuper excited to take Moneyball swimming so I got swim diapers in all sizes so we can splash around in the water. Hopefully he doesn't take after his dad in his younger years and act like a cat taking a bath.
What is a bedroom without a bookshelf? It's loaded with toys and junk in the bottom peacock (the national bird of India),books from when I was a kid along with some new ones, and some pretty nice Bose speakers which I sacrificed from my practice room.
And in the last corner we have a rocking chair that is either my Grandma's or Great Grandma's, a super soft blanket my mom knit, curtains I made and the cat.
The curtains were the beginning of the room. I was searching gender neutral nurseries and after about 250 photos and blogs I finally found something that didn't make me totally bored. I thought the color was fun and the Elephant print made me think of the Hindu God Lord Ganesha - the God of overcoming obstacles, which was perfect considering all we went through to get to even have a Moneyball of our own.
